Video Camera Check

Testing the new video camera out to check that off the list of things to do.  Screen shot is looking good, although the subject matter could be better.

Getting the Routes Together

I have been working on the routes, and have started using Basecamp that is part of the Garmin software these days.  It’s pretty cool, as I can overlay my routes onto Google Earth and see exactly where my routes are taking me in real terrain imaging.  Here is an example of one of the routes I plan to take.  It is from 4 Corners to the Colorado National Monument via the Million Dollar Highway.  It’s about 250 miles.

I’m going to give this ‘Blog’ thing a chance until I can get all the details worked out for the Photo Gallery.  At this point, it will probably be after my trip.  So, I guess fb will have to do for now.  I want this to be right this time, and not rush it.

I doubt too many of you will be interested that much in my ramblings, but I enjoyed what I did on my Blue Ridge Parkway trip, plus this will be a running account of Friends, Fun and Events to come.  You can always use the ‘Comments’ section to voice your opinions.     —dw

Colorado or Bust!

I am anxiously awaiting June 1st to start out on our 10 day trip to Colorado. John Maki, Walter Blaylock, Dwight Blankenship, and myself will be making noise and burning fossil fuel headed to Four Corners as our first destination.  It is 1249 miles to 4 Corners, with interstate all the way to Albuquerque.  We should be there sometime Saturday June 2nd.  I’m ready to get on the Iron Horse and ride!
